This week is anti-bullying week. Schools around the country are taking part in numerous fun activities to raise awareness of bullying and to ultimately bring a stop to it.  The theme for this year’s anti-bullying week is being different but belonging together.
In many ways this sentiment sums up family. Each of us is different. We have different tastes, likes and dislikes, dreams and fears, we’re chalk and cheese! But somehow we all fit together into a cohesive unit that works. We respect the differences that we identify in others just as we expect them to respect us in return.
These are the values that I am raising The Witchlings to hold. Do to others as you would have them do to you, and respect other people’s point of view.  Wouldn’t it be wonderful if every child had the same values taught to them too?

The ongoing anti-bullying campaign, with its focus week in November each year, is doing everything it can to bring these values to bear in classrooms and on playgrounds throughout the UK. As parents we should all want our children to attend schools that are bully free zones.

Tomorrow Witchling 12 is taking £1 into school for the privilege of wearing non-uniform clothes. In fact the whole school will be decked out in blue tomorrow. So, show your support tomorrow and don something blue!
