Bringing your baby home from hospital is something that all new mums and mums to be fantasise about with excitement and sometimes a little dread. It is a momentous occasion when you finally introduce your precious newborn into their new home and the rest of their lives. Not surprising then that some mums to be go into overdrive getting ready for the big day!
Packing clothes for the trip home before you even leave for the hospital can be a bit of a waste of time to be honest. You probably won’t get back into your pre-pregnancy clothes yet and the weather may change dramatically even over the period of time you are in hospital. By forgoing this packing you can also avoid overdressing your baby. Ask your partner or a trusted friend to bring you practical outfits for your first trip into the world as a mum and baby double act. Loose fitting clothes for you and probably just a simple T shirt or baby grow (depending on the season) for baby. You can wrap him or her up in a snugly blanket for the trip home. Hats are optional and are really only for photos in this case.
Put bluntly, you will be bringing your baby home happier and calmer if you don’t spend needless time at the hospital cramming his or her little limbs into cutsie outfits that would be better suited to a tiny tears doll. Keep it simple and enjoy it!
