The Witchlings are very dedicated followers of fashion. Their own fashion that is!

Since they were tiny both girls have had their own sense of what goes together and what colours they like to wear.  We have progressed through an entire kaleidoscope of different hues and different styles as they have experimented with and grown out of favourite items of clothing.

There has always been the hankering towards pink, from both of them, as they tried to conform to playground peer pressure.  But early on, we discovered that Witchling 10 (Witchling 3 as she was then) has a passion for yellow and for red. Oh, and green and blue as well. She is my rainbow girl.

Witchling 12 is into black and white and purple at present. She is partial to the classic black and red combo too occasionally. She’s practicing to be an ‘emo’. hmmm

What astonishes me sometimes is the combinations of different styles and fabrics that they select. It is late March and not all that warm, despite the increasing sunshine. Witchling 10 wants to leave the house in shorts and a jumper with cowboy boots and a distinctly odd hat! Or perhaps she’ll go for the floaty summer dress with Ugg boots and a clashing cardigan like her sister.  Madness!

But I bite my tongue. They have to find their own sense of fashion and if Witchling 12 wants to go about with her trousers at half mast and a baggy jumper, which I am certain used to be a dress, then so be it! She has her own identity.
