Go and tidy your room!  Aaaaargh! This is the eternal struggle between parent and Witchling.  Why oh why can they not just keep their room clean and tidy?  What is so difficult about putting things away and looking after their things?
Well we just moved, as you may remember, into The Shoebox.  Every room needs tidying!  I am suddenly faced with the same thing as the Witchlings are…. overwhelming mess and I’ve not a clue where to start!  So how do I get the Witchlings (and myself) off to the right start and get The Shoebox sorted out?
The answer came to me in the click of a mouse.  I’m going to take a leaf out of Tracey Beaker’s book!  Tracey has a great system that I hope will help the Witchlings to get their room sorted out in no time!  Check out the CBBC games section of the BBC website where there’s a great game for the Witchlings to play.
Step 1 has them organising what their aims and objectives are ie; To see the floor!
Step 2 encourages them to identify what they will need to achieve it.  In the case of the Witchlings I feel some sort of industrial waste disposal unit might be useful.
Step 3 requires the Witchlings to compose instructions for how to get it all done.
1.    Pick up clothes
2.    Put books on shelves
3.    Sort toys into boxes
4.    Make beds
The whole thing is then available as a funky print out for the Witchlings to be inspired by and use to actually get the job done.
I wonder if it would work for the Kitchen?
