Welcome to my world!  I am a working mum with two wonderful daughters: ‘Witchling 10’ and ‘ ‘Witchling 12’.  I adopted my witchlings when they were 3 and 5 and they have been a source of wonder and amusement and frequent frustration and bewilderment ever since.  They are the centre of my world and, I am not ashamed to admit, the reason I get out of bed most mornings.  I’ve lost a lot of sleep over them as the years have gone by but that is a mother’s lot I guess and they are worth every moment.

My family
Just at the moment I am losing sleep over what on earth I am going to do with them as the long summer holidays draw ever closer.  Do I rely on the kindness of Grandma (again!) or do I pack them off each morning to a summer camp or play scheme in the hope that they will spend the summer enjoying a host of well planned, varied activities that justify the sudden haemorrhage my bank account seems to have developed to pay for it all?  Stay tuned for developments on that front!
This page is dedicated to my witchlings and on it I will share my adventures in parenting as well as any other pearls of wisdom I come across.   Feel free to leave me comments, offer advice, or even contradict me but remember one thing – Mum knows best!
Finally I thought I’d share this little gem, overheard in the back of grandpa’s car on the way back from school yesterday.
Witchling 10: “What’s your favourite lesson at school?”
Witchling 12: “Lunchtime!”
