A new report has stated that nearly three quarters of British parents are worried about their children playing computer games. Most parents are of the opinion that children who play these types of games may have some behavioral problems. The games currently have an age rating on the box that is for information only. Parents believe this should be made compulsory and games should not be sold to children who are under the required age to play the game.
The problem does not however only stop with bought video games. Most children now play games online where they are on the whole unregulated.
Mike Rawlinson, from Elspa the video games body stated:
Useful and Interesting Items:“UK parents need a system for videogames age classification that is built with the protection of the new generation of children in mind, and as such, delivers a robust system that works as well for games bought in-store as played online”
