Yes, it’s official. Peter and Katie are NOT bad parents!

Peter Andre and Katie Price (aka Jordan) breathed sighs of relief yesterday after winning their court battle against the News Of The World. The newspaper printed the libellous article back in February. The expose, which was allegedly based on an interview with the couple’s former nanny Rebecca Gauld, made them out to be uncaring, selfish parents who were self obsessed and even went so far as to imply that they would endanger their own children.

Peter and Katie accepted a public apology from the paper, after their solicitor admitted that the claims were unfounded and untrue. They also accepted an undisclosed amount in damages. Half of the payout will be donated directly to the NSPCC and sight charity Vision. The other half has been put into trust for Harvey, Princess Tiaami and Junior.

In a prepared statement Katie said:

“Anyone who has kids can imagine how it would feel to be accused publicly of being bad parents. We came here today to see that justice was done and that our names were cleared. ”

Now that the paper has accepted the story wasn’t true, apologised to us, and paid us damages and our costs, we believe the record has been set straight and our names have been cleared.”

I can only sympathise for what the couple must have been through, having their ability to parent their own children called into question in such a way. Every parent knows how hard it can be. We constantly question our own ability to parent never mind having it done by a vicious tabloid!
